Those things happen to me all the time! I want to make something new, but every recipe I find requires a trip to the store. My pantry has a slew of what I consider "mix-matched stuff", and I can't seem to think of anything to make from the things I already have. I am not a creative cook, and yes....I am a card-carrying member of "not creative cooks anonymous". (I would be if it actually existed....and I guess posting it on here makes me no longer "anonymous" :o). oh, well!)
Well, while reading another blog I stumbled upon this fabulous website:
Here's what you do.....go to the website and enter in the things in your pantry and fridge, and it will automatically pull recipes containing those items. When the recipes come up, it will tell you if you have all the ingredients required to make it! It will also suggest items by saying, "Do you have....pepper? Milk? Cream cheese?" I typed in just 12 items I know I have and it pulled up 42 recipes for me to try!
It will also exclude items you don't want in the recipe! Got a gluten or peanut allergy? No problem! Just exclude it! It will take the recipes out of the list that contain those items.
Definitely a fun new toy for me!! No more looking in the pantry and thinking, "I have nothing to eat!"
If you try it too, let me know what you think! I'd love to see how many ingredients you put in and how many recipes it pulled up!
