Easter '09

Easter seemed to really fly by this year! I'm pretty sure when you see the pictures, you'll understand when I say "we're going to have to have a re-do day!" Hope everyone had a great Easter!!

Trying to get Samantha to smile...
Take 1...at least no one is crying
Take 2...I'm catching flies trying to get Samantha to smile, and James looks unhappy
TAKE 3....This is my, "Let's just get this over with" face, and obviously Samantha's NOT happy (and I don't mean to be vulgar, but it looks like she's trying to flip off the camera...doesn't it?)
So Sleepy
So very sleepy
Much happier after nap time
Me and my boy

Wearing Orange for Stellan Day

Right now Stellan is in surgery for his heart. Some of MckMama's readers decided to wear orange (her favorite color) in a show of support for Stellan today! Here's our orange!!!

We are praying for you Stellan!

Funny Stories

I know that *some* of you are going crazy that I haven't posted pics of the kids in a while. I will soon...we just haven't had much luck capturing photos of the kids lately (i.e. someone is crying EVERY TIME the camera comes out). But until then I thought I would post a couple of cute stories....

Story #1:
The other night a may fly (a huge, ugly mosquito looking thing that is harmless, but really scary looking) got into James room right before he was about to fall asleep. Suddenly Andy and I heard James screaming, and ran back to his room to find him "trapped" by this bug. I scooped him up and took him out of the room, and assured him that daddy (our hero) would kill the bug. When we got out of his room he said, "Get Larrboy! He's scared too!" Oh my heart just melted! He can really be so sweet....

Story #2:
We went to Zaxbys on Tues night because our Zaxbys has free kids meals (with the purchase of a regular meal) on Tues. We had almost finished eating when James proclaimed that he had to go potty. I said, "ok" and started to move to take him, when I was informed by James that Daddy needed to take him (he's becoming very aware of the boys room/girls room thing). However, then he also informed me that boys play games and have fun in the boys room. Really? So, I asked him, "Well, what do girls do in the restroom?"

He said, "They just go potty."

LOL.

Story #3:
We went to Chick-Fil-A (we're starting to sound like fast food junkies....probably because we are) and after eating the kids and I went into the play area (which I absolutely LOVE at our Chick-Fil-A) while Andy cleaned up and then joined us. Right after Samantha eats, she has the roundest little tummy. It really is so cute and I'm trying to get a picture of it...if only she would stand still! Anyways, this little girl (she looked to be about 3 or 4) came into the play area and walked over to Samantha. She put her hand on Samantha's tummy, looked up at me and said, "Does she have a baby in her tummy?" I almost fell over!! It was so cute!! Of course I told her "No, there's not a baby in her tummy."

Oh kids, and the things they say!!

When I don't know what to do...

When I don't know what to do, I'll lift my hands
When I don't know what to say, I'll speak your praise
When I don't know where to go, I'll run to your throne
When I don't know what to think, I'll stand on your truth
As I bow my knee, send your perfect peace, Lord
As I lift my hands, let your healing come...

I QUIT!!!

I quit biting my nails!!! If you know me, you know that I used to bite my nails very badly....I hated it, it was disgusting, and I just could not stop....and then, I just finally got so sick of it and I just stopped. That's it...I didn't do anything special to quit....I just did. It has now been over a month, and I treated myself to a manicure today. I even took pictures, because I'm so proud of my new nails!

What's "wrong"

After my last post titled "NO TV Monday", I thought some people might think it wrong of me to "deny"my family TV for a day. So, that got me thinking about things that are REALLY "wrong" so that I can shift your mind away from the former:

(Think sarcastic "oh that's so wrong!")

What's "wrong" is that our kitchen center light has been out for months.

What's "wrong" is that we have not replaced it because it is too high up and would require us buying a ladder to fix it, and we're too cheap to buy a ladder just to fix a bulb.

What's "wrong" (and my mom will really appreciate this in a "that's my girl" sort of way) is that I got out of bed at 1:30 AM just because I could not get my mind off of that really stinky diaper Samantha had earlier, and I could not stand it being in the house even one second longer.

What's "wrong" is that then, since I was already getting the diapers, I decided, "I might as well get the rest of the trash"

What's "wrong" is that while getting the rest of the trash I accidentally spilled paper pieces onto the floor while emptying the shredder. Then I had to go get a broom to sweep up said pieces at 1:45 AM!

(I can see my mom smiling now)

So, there you go....some things that are "wrong" just in case you needed it to shift your mind away from "No TV Monday.... :0)

This was just a test to see if my new sig would work! It did!!
